NCHSAA 5 State Champions since coaching AND 2 Runner Up Champions.
NCHSAA Coach of the year 2000 through 2004 (NC)
Cycling:
Current competitive road cyclist. Recently finished the Assault on Mt. Mitchell (12,000 feet of climbing) and 108 miles.
Catie Byrd wins NCHSAA 2009 State Championship trohpy for Women's Cross Country Individual. Her
proud dad and mom (who is also her coach) at her side.
Catie Byrd went on to a Full Scholarship to Queen's University in Cross-Country and Track to become an 11-time All-American!!!
